Utility Point offers three main tariffs. All of them are fixed tariffs that guarantee a stable unit price for 12 to 24 months. All three tariffs come with a £30 exit fee. When the term is completed, they will put you on to their Standard Variable Tariff with no cancellation fees. Tariff prices may vary depending on the area you live in.
Just Join Up 12M Fixed Standard Wk04 is the most popular tariff available in Utility Point. This provides electricity and gas for 12 month period with a fixed unit rate. It costs £83.78 for an average customer per month.
Just Join Up 24M Fixed Wk04 offers electricity and gas for 24 months with fixed unit rate prices. It will cost you £93.36 on average per month.
Just Join Up 12M Fixed Wk05 is the cheapest tariff available in Utility Point, which is £79.16 on average per month. This one offers gas and electricity for a fixed 12 month period with a fixed unit rate. (These prices are for medium users, that is 2900kwh of electricity and 1200kwh of gas per year)
If you decide to leave the utility point before the end of the contract you should pay an exit fee of £30 per fuel.

Utility Point customer service
You can contact Utility Point via mobile, email, or live chat available on their website, social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and, Instagram. According to most of the Utility Point reviews, their live chat is the fastest way to contact them. Their hotline 0345 557 7878 is available from Monday to Friday between 9 am to 6.30 pm.
In Which?’s latest snapshot investigation took place in September 2020, Utility Point has taken 15 minutes 55 seconds on average to answer the phone. This is very slow compared to the fastest average response time, which is 51 seconds by together energy. However, this is not the worst response time either. Seven more companies have taken more time than Utility Point to answer the phone, including Boost, which took more than 40 minutes on average to respond!
To answer live chat queries, the utility point has taken 7 minutes 10 seconds on average. The fastest average response time reported in the investigation was 10 seconds. So Utility Point needs some improvement on these if they want to make a better impression on customers.
Even though their response time is not very impressive utility point’s complaint handling figures seem quite good. According to the numbers on Which? Utility Point manages to resolve 80% of the complaints on the same day or the very next working day. They still got few companies to beat as the best firms manage to resolve 90% or more complaints during the same period.
How green is Utility Point?

Utility point is not a green energy company. Their primary energy source is Natural gas. Even though renewable sources come second, their contribution is too little compared to most other energy firms.
Utility Point does not support carbon offsetting programs either.
Most of the UK’s energy firms support carbon offsetting programs collaborating with environmental associations to reduce the damage of carbon emission. But Utility Point has not put enough weight on this matter, which is unfortunate. We hope they will make policy changes in the future towards a more environmentally friendly process to help UK reach its target of bringing greenhouse gas emissions to net-zero by 2050.
At least for now, if you are looking for an environmentally friendly energy provider, Utility Point may not be the one that you are looking for.

Utility point gas and electricity prices are very reasonable and affordable. According to Selectra, some of their tariffs are around £300 cheaper than the big six suppliers in the UK. The cheapest tariff will cost around £960 per year for an average user.

Utility Point became the 15th out of 25 energy companies in the annual Which Energy Company Satisfaction survey. Reviews were done by 7,460 members of the public, and they rated utility point above all the big energy firms
In this “Which” review, Utility Point scored 65% of the overall score. They secured 4 stars out of 5 for ‘bill accuracy. Seven other energy suppliers achieved 5 out of 5 stars in this section.
They obtained only 3-stars for customer service, bill clarity, and value for money categories. Having said that, only five companies gained 4-star ratings for ‘customer service’ in the survey, and no one managed to secure 5-stars. Moreover,3-stars received for the ‘value for money’ category is equivalent to some of the higher scoring companies. Only one company has achieved 5-stars.

On Trustpilot reviews, the utility point has mixed customer responses. They got 3.3 average ratings out of 5 from 9841 reviews.. 68% of the customers rated Utility Point as ‘Excellent’ or ‘Great’ while 28% of them have rated them as ‘Poor’ or ‘Bad’.Most of the customer reviews that rated them ‘Poor’ or ‘Bad’ have highlighted their poor customer service and lack of transparency.

What is ‘Utility Point Rewards’?

Once you register for the program they will send you alink and you can choose your password and start using the benefits. You don’t have to pay anything for the service.However will lose access to this program when you leave Utility Point. If you leave before the due period of the contract, a cancellation fee would be charged.
Does Utility Point support smart meters?
Utility Point does not support smart meters yet. They only take meter readings from traditional credit meters. So if you have a smart meter and switch to Utility Point, your smart meter will lose its smart functionality. Therefore you will have to submit your meter readings manually.
This issue arose mainly because they are new to the energy market. They will need some more time to catch up but will get there sooner. Currently, most energy companies install generation 2 smart meters across the country to comply with the government’s vision to supply smart meters to every home within the next 2years.
Utility Point ‘refer a friend scheme.’
Utility Point customers are provided with a unique opportunity to earn some money by referring a friend to them. If your friend uses your referral link when signing up, you both will get £25 each. As a Utility Point customer, all you have to do is log in to your online account and click on ‘Refer a Friend’ on the menu. After that, you can generate your personalized link. Warm home discount
The Warm Home Discount is a government scheme funded by energy suppliers set up to help tackle fuel poverty. If you are eligible for this scheme, you will receive £140 for your energy bills each winter.
Those who are eligible for the scheme in 2021 will receive £140 to your Utility Point account by 31st March 2021. At the moment, this scheme is offered only to the core group. Once the company reaches 250,000 customers, they will have to provide the scheme to the broader group.
How to switch to Utility Point
You can switch to Utility Point by using an independent energy switch website or switching directly through the utility point website.
If you use the utility point energy website, the process will take only a few minutes. You need to enter a few details, and they will handle the full switching process, including informing your old supplier. The switching process will take around 21 days. You can cancel the switching process within 14 days since you register without paying any exit fees.
The only thing they want from you is to submit your opening meter readings 5 days before you are due to be supplied. They will remind you of this via email.
Does Utility Point support Economy 7?
The answer is NO. Utility Point does not support Economy 7 meter at the moment.
